Alexander Burgansky

I joined Renaissance Capital in 2004 after seven years with Credit Suisse First Boston in equity research. I have always been an equity analyst, but have covered many different sectors and countries throughout my career

I made the move to Renaissance because I was ready for new challenges. Russia was a different place then, and Renaissance Capital was still a work-in-progress. I wanted to use the skills I had to make an impact in an organisation where this would be required, recognised and rewarded

This is a place for achievers: the culture is entrepreneurial, and the thing that defines our character is the pursuit of excellence.

I would say that Renaissance Capital is unique – it is a place where one is both motivated and empowered to do things beyond the norm. Bureaucracy is low and important decisions are made quickly.

My work day starts early. At home I check any overnight news and read newspapers. I then prepare comments for the stories which might be relevant for our daily morning meeting. The rest of it is different every day – writing reports, speaking to clients and managing staff.
