Renaissance Capital has been involved in many of the highest profile and most complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions in high-opportunity emerging markets. Some notable successes for Renaissance Capital in 2007 include:
- Named number one M&A advisor for Russian clients by the Financial Times and Mergermarket.
- Advised Onexim Group on a sale of 25% plus one share interest in Norilsk Nickel to Rusal.
- Advising BP on the sale of a controlling stake in Rusia Petroleum, company holding licence to develop Kovykta gas field, to Gazprom.
- Other clients advised on M&A transactions in 2007 include A-Pressen, Celtic, Chicken Kingdom Group, Dixi, Ilim Pulp, Kopeika, mail.ru, Metallinvest, MTV and Ruzskaya Confectionaty Factory among others.
- In total, we advised on 25 M&A transactions in 2007, totalling more than US$20bn.
- Number one bookrunner for Russian IPOs by value and number of transactions.
Acted as a bookrunner in 23 public equity offerings including those for VTB, the world’s second largest IPO for the year, as well as for Bank St Petersburg, Dixi, Eastern Property Holdings, Integra, MMK, M Video, Nuritek, Rointer, Sitronics, Uralkli and Volga Gas.
In addition Renaissance Capital conducted several secondary transactions and private placements, including two successful placements for leading African financial institutions, UBA and Access Bank. We also manage IPOs on many exchanges including New York, London, AIM, Stockholm and Zurich.
