We have a strong track record of buying and selling large-scale assets in metals, telecoms, energy and other key industry sectors. In 2006, we led and managed a consortium of investors in the sale of a 40% stake in the world’s leading titanium producer, VSMPO-AVISMA – realising a substantial return on the original investment made in 2005. Our current portfolio includes investments in forestry; agricultural land and food production in the Ukraine; oilfield services in the CIS; and commercial banking in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Typical Investments:
Forestry, Eastern Russia – this highly successful joint venture created the leading timber logging company in Russia, now managing more than four million hectares of forest.
Agricultural Land, Ukraine – we built a large-scale farming franchise, which has bought and modernised more than 300,000 hectares of prime farmland in Ukraine.
Pan-Africa Banking Platform – we’re the largest investor in ETI, a leading West African banking franchise already operating in 24 countries who are committed to creating the leading regional banking platform in Sub-Saharan Africa.
