As a director responsible for global technology I spend almost half my time with the business leaders and their business managers. The rest is split between interacting with the IT manager and team leaders over tactical and strategic issues and projects. About a fifth of my time is spent on external communications – with vendors, professional associations, and industry colleagues.

I joined Renaissance in 2004, originally as the Head of Strategic Projects. In 2005, I was appointed Group Chief Information Officer.

Before joining Renaissance, while with BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting) I managed a variety of IT strategy development, enterprise integration and data warehousing projects for a wide range of financial services, telecoms and government sectors in the US, Russia and CIS.

One of the things that attracted me most to Renaissance was the enormous opportunities in the markets where we operate and the fact that Renaissance is the leading player. I saw an opportunity to create a world-class investment bank technology platform competing with the top tier global players.

The people here have energy, dedication and drive. The culture is very dynamic, and positively charged.

The level of responsibility and authority that people are willing to take is outstanding. You can really make the difference working at Renaissance. You’ll need to show initiative and be ready to take responsibility, but organisationally the Firm has a flat structure providing easy access to senior level executives.
